View productThe pieces in our collection are chosen for their quality as much as their style — and with the right care, they will reward you with seasons of wear rather than just a few outings. Fabric quality, print vibrancy, and garment shape are all directly affected by how you wash, dry, and store your clothes. A few simple habits make a significant difference to how long your Pink Poison pieces stay looking their best.
The most common causes of premature garment wear are washing at too high a temperature, overloading the washing machine, tumble drying fabrics that should be air dried, and storing garments in ways that distort their shape. Our guide below covers each fabric type in our collection and gives you the specific care steps that will keep each piece looking as good as the day it arrived.
If you are ever unsure about a specific garment, the care label inside is always your first reference point. And if you have a question about a particular piece you have bought from us, our team is happy to advise — just drop us an email at info@pinkpoisonl.com.
Different fabrics need different treatment. Here is how to care for the main fabric types in our collection:
Machine wash at 30 degrees on a gentle or delicate cycle. Turn inside out before washing to protect print quality. Do not tumble dry — lay flat or hang to dry. Iron on a low heat if needed, inside out.
Hand wash or machine wash at 30 degrees on a delicate cycle. Do not wring — gently squeeze out excess water and lay flat to dry. Iron on a medium heat while slightly damp for best results.
Machine wash at 30 or 40 degrees. These fabrics are more robust but may shrink slightly at higher temperatures, so we recommend 30 degrees for the first few washes. Tumble dry on a low heat or air dry.
Always turn printed garments inside out before washing. Use a gentle, colour-safe detergent. Avoid bleach or fabric softeners with optical brighteners, which can fade prints over time.
Follow these simple steps to extend the life of every piece in your Pink Poison wardrobe:
Every garment has a care label with specific washing instructions. Always check this before washing, as individual pieces may have specific requirements beyond our general guidance.
30 degrees is sufficient for most garments and is much kinder to fabrics and prints than higher temperatures. It is also better for the environment.
Turning garments inside out before washing protects prints, embellishments, and the outer surface of the fabric from friction and fading.
Overloading your washing machine causes garments to rub against each other more aggressively, which can damage fabric and prints. Wash similar colours together in smaller loads.
Air drying is gentler on fabrics than tumble drying and helps garments retain their shape. Hang dresses on padded hangers and lay tunics flat to dry.
Hang dresses on padded or wide hangers to prevent shoulder distortion. Fold tunics and knitwear rather than hanging to avoid stretching. Store away from direct sunlight to prevent colour fading.
Act quickly — the sooner you treat a stain, the easier it is to remove. Blot (do not rub) the stain with a clean cloth to absorb as much of the substance as possible before it sets. Rubbing spreads the stain and pushes it deeper into the fabric fibres.
For most food and drink stains, a small amount of washing-up liquid or a dedicated stain remover applied directly to the stain and left for 10–15 minutes before washing is effective. Always test any stain remover on an inconspicuous area first, especially on printed or delicate fabrics.
For oil-based stains, sprinkle a little bicarbonate of soda on the stain before treating with washing-up liquid — this helps absorb the oil before you wash it out. Avoid hot water on stains before treating, as heat can set the stain permanently.
